If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:2
To love (that is to ACT on love) is more important than any gift we can receive from God.
- We may look up to and applaud the gift of a prophet…
- We may climb the proverbial mountain in search for God’s secret plans…
- We might even have faith that can bring healing to the sick…
- We may serve tirelessly…
- Preach motivationally…
- Even blog endlessly…(NOTE: preaching to self here)
- NONE compare to LOVE
The ultimate act of love is forgiveness.
For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17
Jesus’ love in action was paying the price for our wrongs so that we don’t have to. His love gives us FULL forgiveness.
When you walk in forgiveness, you walk in love…Walk in love and you walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
- Turn the other cheek…
- Overlook a wrong…
- Think the best of someone…
- Give MORE than two chances…
So forgive today. For there is found your peace; the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Bear with (i.e. LOVE) each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13
PS: while showing some love for others why not cut yourself some slack and sow a little forgiveness your way.
