It Ain’t Over Til….

Former Yankees Hall Of Fame player & manager Yogi Berra has perhaps become known as much for his overstated wit as his abilities as a major leaguer. His most famous quote is the now commonly used “It ain’t over til it’s over.” Although that may seem overly obviously to us, it can be used to tie into truths about prayer & miracles.

As we’re settling into a new year & hopefully new behavior patterns, it’s important to remember this about prayers: they aren’t answered until they’re ANSWERED, just as miracles don’t happen until they HAPPEN.

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
-Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NLT)
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
-Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT)

God answers in His way & in His time. There are seasons when you’ll hear from Him more readily & more often.  When you are not, it doesn’t mean something’s wrong.  God doesn’t promise to give us exactly what we want when we want it. He’s our Father and if any of you have children you know that they don’t always have the best “big-picture” view of the world. Therefore their requests won’t always be in their own best interests. It’s the same way with us!

That’s why we need to have a strong faith which is basically just a trust that our Father will do what He says He’ll do (ie: so be in His Word). We also need to be planted in an environment that fosters our faith (ie: so be in church) & surrounded by people who’ll help us keep that faith (ie: so be with your brothers).

Then our job becomes simple: keep praying UNTIL we’re answered & keep working out our miracles UNTIL they happen!! Do it for yourself! Do it for your brothers! Do it in FAITH and make 2012 HUGE in Him!
